Australia welcomed the New Year ahead of other countries. The iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge became a spectacular site as fireworks marked the start of the New Year in Australia. Meanwhile here in Perth, about 10,000 are estimated to have attended the NYE (New Year’s Eve) Disco in Northbrige. The party was one of the biggest across Western Australia as Perth tries to depart from its tag as dullsville or a boring city for not having that much “attraction” for most tourists. It was indeed as a success as police were able to tame the crowds with the alcohol ban in most of the NYE party venues.
