Trickiest criminals

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd recently branded the convicted Bali bombers as “mass murderers and cowards who deserve what’s coming to them.” This was after it became certain that the convicted criminals will be executed any day soon.

The convicted bombers, Amrozi, his brother Muklas and Imam Sudra, faced the media yesterday and remained defiant. They said that there will be others who will avenge their deaths. As I watched their interview on TV, I can see fear and nothing that indicated that they would want to embrace death as they have repeatedly declared previously.

Islamic terrorist might be the trickiest criminals that any law enforcement agencies might have since they claim to welcome death yet continue to make threats if they continue to live. So, what is the fitting punishment? Will they reform? At the end of the day, what do they want?

  1. Death may be the easiest way out for these bastards, but in the end, the fact still remains that there are more assholes like them. They are out there and they are oh so ready to die for their twisted principles.

We cannot wish for them to change.

    Fact is, they won’t change.

  2. they are really giving Islam a bad name but most of the time, you can’t help but generalize. I just hope that they are only a minority in the Muslim world and not a growing majority.

  3. yan nga ba ang tamang hatol para sa kanila? sa tingin ko, hindi pero at least, hindi na sila makakagawa ng kung ano pang masamang balak.

  4. I have a hard time accepting death penalty as a form of punishment… because I grew up firmly believing that God gives life and only God has the right to take life. Doling out to death to monsters who dole out death… we become just like them.

    Yes, it’s a tricky topic.

Oh, BTW, thank you for always supporting my blog. It means a lot to me. And I’m sorry I haven’t dropped by more. I just needed a blog-world break. 🙂

  5. Masyado masalimuot kung tutuusin Kengkay agree ako sa iyo, in a way, parusa sa kanila na buhay sila pero nasa loob ng kulungan kaya lang mahirap magtiwala na wala na sila magagawa kahit nasa loob pa sila.

    Salamat sa pagbisita Tem-i

Hi Massa glad to see you resurrected! 😀 I do have a hard time accepting death penalty also, I would like them to just rot in jail, however, as I’ve replied to Kengkay if you keep them in jail, there’s no assurance that they will never be able to do what they were able to do. tricky indeed–I was in a semi-hiatus status because of the need to focus on writing my thesis but I’m trying to do blog as a ‘relaxation’ 😉
